Golden Hour Maternity Shoot
I’ve been dying to share this maternity shoot, but I wanted to wait until their beautiful baby arrived first. And oh my goodness—what a session it was. I was honestly like a kid in a sweet shop, grinning behind the camera with every click. Every frame felt special, every laugh, every glance—it was one of those shoots where I just knew we were creating something magical.
We met at the beach during golden hour, and the timing couldn’t have been better. The sky glowed golden, the sea was calm, and the love between these two soon-to-be parents was just radiant. The light wrapped around them so perfectly, it felt like nature itself was celebrating their little one on the way.
Of course, the beach has its own personality—especially when it comes to the wind. 🤣 I didn’t bring a reflector that day, but honestly, if I had, it probably would’ve taken off on its own adventure down the sand. That’s the beauty (and sometimes the challenge) of shooting outdoors. You can’t control it all, but you can roll with it—and often, those little imperfections make the best memories.
What really made this session shine, though, was the couple. They were completely at ease, full of their own ideas, and even brought props that made the shoot uniquely theirs. That kind of trust and playfulness is such a gift. But here’s the thing—if posing or ideas don’t come naturally to you, that’s okay too. I’ve got you. I love helping people feel comfortable and creating those beautiful candid moments where your true self shines through. That’s always where the magic is.
Just a Select few Images from the shoot - I provided various styles for the couple to choose from.
And sometimes, a picture starts as nothing more than an idea in your head. I had one of those moments here: I pictured her standing tall in the sunset, her husband on one knee kissing her bump—almost like a promise to protect their baby. When I described it to her, she loved it before even seeing it. And when we brought it to life, silhouetted against the glowing sky, it instantly became one of my absolute favorite images.
Not bad for my very first maternity shoot, right? Everyone has to start somewhere, and I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful beginning. I’m not perfect—I’m only human—but I certainly try. And when you mix golden light, a couple bursting with love, and a whole lot of joy behind the camera… the results speak for themselves.
Now that their little one is here, I finally get to share these moments. And trust me—it was worth every second of the wait.
